THE FUTURE IS AGRO..

THE HERERO INSPIRED BUCKET BAG
For the Af-Gro collection, I tapped into the world of accessory design. I created multiple hat silhouettes and collaborated with leather worker Anu Bankole on 2 leather accessories. We created two bags that related to the Herero culture and agriculture, one that is a rounded bucket bag sack and a satchel with a seed dispenser mechanism. The bucket bag features 8 panels that are stitched together to create a rounded form in homage to the cattle of the Herero tribe. It has a round base in cattle hair on hide with mini horns as toggles for fastening the drawstring. The satchel is catered more to agriculture with features that aid to farming. A seed dispenser can be located in the front with a dial mechanism that allow you to spread seeds evenly. There are two pockets for tools and two belts loop at the back panel. The palette were earthy shades of brown with an accent of marigold and I used the same saddle/suede leathers for both bags with minimal wastage and deadstock hair on hide.
